Blazing into the city of Seattle, the New York-based alt-rock band, X Ambassadors, put on one of their most memorable shows as they honored 10 years of their debut album, VHS. Released on June 30th, 2015, this record can be credited for launching them into their music career. The group is led by brothers Sam Harris (vocals and guitar) and Casey Harris (keys), along with Adam Levin on the drums. VHS included their hit singles "Renegades," "Unsteady," and "Low Life," which were used in major television shows and movie soundtracks. Earlier this year, the band rerecorded and "reimagined" this record, calling it VHS(X) (Rerecorded); and with it, they added interludes in between tracks to tie it all together.Showbox Presents put on a fiery show, with a fiery crowd that came ready to sing and dance to some of their favorites. As the lights dimmed down and shone on the stage, crowd's energy bled throughout the venue–and the band reciprocated the energy as they entered the stage. The show started with an intro, which lead into "Jungle," followed by "Loveless." Fans–or as they like to call themselves, "Townies"–got to hear an array of songs from all over their discography, making for an incredible setlist. Other songs played were "Gorgeous," "Fear," and "Nervous," which is one of my personal favorites. Fan classic "Renegades" also made the cut, along with "Unsteady" which got fans in their feels–if you know, you know. The show came to a close with the last song on the setlist–or so we thought, as moments later, the band came back out for a jam-packed encore including "Friend for Life," "Your Town," and "Hold You Down." And to top off the night, the band supposed the audience by hinting at new music coming "very soon." Keep up with X Ambassadors here, and stream VHS(X) (Rerecorded) here.
